Michael D. Stanley has served as director of the Los Angeles LDS Institute of Religion at USC since 2007. He is also a founding member and Vice President of The John A. & Leah D. Widtsoe Foundation promoting interfaith understanding and global mentoring.

Dr. Stanley is a graduate of Brigham Young University and holds a Doctorate in International Organizational Development. He has been involved with the Church Educational System for more than 35 years. In the community he has consulted on organizational issues with multiple businesses, local & state governments, serves on a city task force on homelessness, and taught a variety of college courses.

As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he has served in many capacities including as a full-time missionary in Hong Kong, a Bishop, and currently as President of the Santa Clarita California Stake. He and is wife have five children. They love to travel and meet good people of the world.
