University policy grants students excused absences from class for observance of religious holy days that last up to two days. Faculty are asked to be responsive to requests when students contact them in advance—at least two weeks—to allow for appropriate planning. 

The student should be given an opportunity to make up missed work because of religious observance.

For longer periods of observances, students should contact the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life for advice and support.
