Reverend Kelby Harrison is the Director of Spirituality and Sexuality at the University of Southern California.
Reverend Harrison joined the Trojan Family in Spring of 2014 as the director of the LGBT Resource Center. She has a Ph.D. in ethics, gender, and sexuality from Northwestern University (2010). Prior to joining USC, she was a post-doctoral teaching fellow at Union Theological Seminary in the city of New York where she taught Christian ethics, philosophy of religion, LGBT social ethics, and sexual ethics. Most recently, Reverend Harrison trained as an Interfaith chaplain at UCLA – Santa Monica Medical Center.
Reverend Harrison is ordained with the Metropolitan Community Church – the LGBT focused Christian denomination. She is committed to the spiritual health and expression, and full inclusion of LGBT people in all faith traditions. Furthermore, she is a published author of the book Sexual Deceit: The Ethics of Passing (Lexington Press), as well as co-editor of the anthology Passing/Out: Identity Veiled and Revealed (Ashgate Press).
