Nathan J. Barlow, is the Director of the Institute of Religion for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here at USC.
Before coming back to Southern California, Nathan taught Seminary in Utah for eight years from 2001- 2008. He is a native of Southern California and received his Doctoral Degree (EdD) from the University of Southern California in Educational Leadership with an emphasis is Educational Psychology.
As the Institute Director, Nathan also works closely with the Latter-day Saint Student Association (LDSSA) on campus. He has served in the Seminaries and Institutes of Religion department of the Church since 2001. Prior to arriving at USC in 2019, he served in the same capacity at the Institutes of Religion adjacent to CSUN and UCLA.
He is married to the love of his life, Sarah. Together they have five children. As a young man, he served a mission for the Church from 1995 to 1997 in Northern Italy. He studied at the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center in Israel prior to his missionary service.
Nathan’s passion is to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
